Sweet and Spicy Beet Spread


One of our amazing patients, Ms. Nichole, made this dip for our Annual Birthday Picnic at Narcisi. It was so incredible we had to feature it. Kids, adults, even the people who don’t like beets loved this dish!

We absolutely had to share it. 

You will need: 

-1/3 cup olive oil

-2 Tablespoons honey

-Juice and zest of 1 large lemon

-1/4 cup (60mL) tahini

-1/4 cup white vinegar

-1 Large Beet, roasted and peeled

-1 (425g) can chickpeas, drained

-1 garlic clove, peeled

-1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and quartered

-1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper


In order, put all of the ingredients into the blender. Start on low and then high for 60 seconds. Serve with your favorite cracker or bread.


That’s it! This dip was so fun and flavorful, the kids referred to it as the Dr. Seuss dip. We always love the usual dips (hummus, guacamole, salsa) but this was so out of the box and different! We are definitely making this asap.
