Preparing for the Purification Program

The Best Paleo Cinnamon Rolls (Ever)
Growing up it was tradition to have a very special breakfast on Christmas and Easter. My mom was known for her sausage, egg, and cheese casserole.
The baking casserole filled the house with warm, savory scents of mushrooms, sausage, and CHEESE! It was amazing!
Fast forward 30 years, a marriage and two children, Dr. Cotey and I wanted to develop some family traditions of our own.
Cream of mushroom soup, cheese and bread… those, unfortunately, do not fit into our Chiropractic Lifestyle and diet… and yes although we love to LIVE life to the fullest and have some dairy and wheat once in a while… we do not enjoy the after effects on our children… so we had to come up with a different tradition that aligned with our philosophy.
Thank goodness for Pinterest! We started searching Paleo Desserts. On special occasions, we would try a new recipe and either delete it from the board – or – put it in our KEEP folder!
This recipe never disappoints and our girls look forward to the morning when they wake up to a house filled with scents of maple syrup, cinnamon, and raisins in the oven! We hope you enjoy the recipe as much as we do!
1. Be sure to read ALL the directions before even starting the recipe – when baking a paleo recipe there are always things that are a bit different and you don’t want to skip a single step.
2. We always put the filling on the dough and then sprinkle raisins on top before rolling up!
3. These rolls will not be Fluffy like ones out of a can – think the consistency and texture of the cinnamon rolls grandma used to make out of Bisquick. They are soft when warm but once they cool they are a bit more textured (typically they never get to cool since we eat them right out of the oven!)
